Day 1 Thursday, October 20, 2016 Fly USA to Israel

Day 2 Friday, October 21, 2016 Arrive Israel, Arrive Tel Aviv and transfer to Galilee


Day 3 Saturday, October 22, 2016 Nazareth & Galilee

This morning we will travel north along the Mediterranean Sea on the ancient road called the Via Maris. Our first stop will be at Caesarea, the ancient ‘Roman Capital of Palestine. Here we discuss Paul's imprisonment and the first gentile convert, Cornelius, a Roman centurion. We will also discuss Paul's account of his vision while on the road to Damascus to King Agrippa. While at Caesarea We will visit the picturesque old Roman aqueduct that brought fresh water to Caesarea. Leaving the sea we will stop at Mt. Carmel and learn of the events surrounding the sacrificial contest that took place between Elijah and the priests of Baal. Lunch will be with Druze atop Mt Carmel and then we will make our way to the Jezreel valley. We will enter the Valley of Armageddon and stop at Solomon's fortified city of Megiddo, At Megiddo we will see the ruins of this famous city of Solomon and Ahab and be able to walk through the underground water system. Following Megiddo we will climb the hills to Nazareth the place of Gabriel’s annunciation to Mary that she would bear the Savior, and the home of the young Jesus. Traveling north we will stop at Cana where the first miracle of changing water to wine was done at the wedding feast. The evening will find us in the Galilee area where we will be staying for the next few days on the banks of the Sea of Galilee.


Day 4 Sunday, October 23, 2016 Galilee

Today begins an early departure from the hotel to travel to the top of Mount Tabor the traditional site of the Transfiguration of Christ and Peter, James and John. In this special place we will spend a few minutes alone to discuss the importance of this event had the keys that were given to the Presidency of the Priesthood here. After our visit to the Mt of Transfiguration we will travel to Capernaum where so many wonderful events and teachings of the Savior took place. This was the city that Christ called is home. Here He taught and lived with Peter's family. The foundation of the synagogue where the Savior taught is existing with a 4th century synagogue standing on the same foundation. We will stop at the Mount of Beatitudes where we will ponder the restoration of the higher law and read the beatitudes while overlooking the Sea of Galilee. We will then visit Tabga where the traditional site of the feeding of the five thousand took place where one on the most famous mosaics exists of the loaves and fishes. We will have lunch near the Sea of Galilee. Following our lunch we will have a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee and see how the early apostles would cast their nets into the sea. While on the boat we will discuss the miracles of walking on water and the calming of the sea that took place there. Before the day is through we will stop at the Jordan River and discuss the Baptism of Christ at the hands of John, and discover the scriptural meaning of this most important ordinance. At the end of the day we will return to our hotel


Day 5 Monday, October 24, 2016 Galilee & Masada

We will end the day with a tour of Beit Sean the city were Saul and his son Jonathans' bodies were hung on the walls of the city. This city was included in the Greek and Roman Decapolois that flanked the eastern frontier of the Roman Empire. This incredible site is the largest excavated ruins in Israel. From here we will travel to Masada along the Jordan Rift Valley. We will visit this famous site where the las Zealots found refuge in 70 AD from the Romans. The late afternoon will find us at the discovery site of the Dead Sea Scrolls, a village called Qumran where it is traditionally taught that John the Baptist may have lived. The oldest documents and manuscripts of the Old Testament were found here. We will have an opportunity to walk through the ruins of Qumran where the scribes prepared copies of the scriptures that would speak from the dust centuries later. In a short time we will arrive in Jerusalem, the City of Gold, and center of Judaism and Christianity. We will stop for a panoramic view of the ancient city from the Mt. of Olives looking onto the Temple Mount, Golden Gate and the Garden of Gethsemane. We will then settle into a great hotel for the next few days.


Day 6 Tuesday, October 25, 2016 Jerusalem

Today we begin by visiting. Shrine of the Book and the Model City of Jerusalem so that we can get a better understanding of the lay-out of the ancient city of Jerusalem, and see the display of the Dead Sea Scrolls. From there we will travel to Bethlehem to see the traditional site of the birth of Christ and a visit to the ‘Shepherd’s Fields” to get a better understanding of the events of the Nativity. We will be near the fields of Boaz where Ruth has a great place for our lunch.


Day 7 Wednesday, October 26, 2016 Jerusalem

This morning we will ascend to the place where the Temples of both Solomon and Herod once stood. We will see the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa Mosque. We will visit the original Pools of Bethesda, and the pavement, or judgment hall where Pilate condemned Christ. We will walk on the traditional route of the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We will have lunch on our own at the Jewish Quarter or Jaffa Gate. We will make our way to the Pool of Siloam and the Western Wall. and the Davidson Center to walk on the Southern Steps to explore the excavations south of the Temple Mount. Here we will walk on the sidewalks and stairs that Christ trod as he entered the Temple area. We will discuss the Triumphal Entry as we stand on the very stones that the Savior walked into the city..


Day 8 Thursday, October 27, 2016 Jerusalem,

Today we retrace the footsteps of our Savior during the last few hours of his life beginning with a visit to the Mount of Olives and descend to the Garden of Gethsemane. We will have a private spot in the garden to contemplate the Atonement and discuss the mission of the Life of Christ. We will visit the traditional site of the Upper Room and the Last Supper and the house of Caiaphas. Our highlight day concludes at the site of Golgotha and the Garden Tomb and discuss the life, death and resurrection of the Savior.


Day 9 Friday, October 28, 2016 Petra,

This morning we will travel to Petra, the newly voted “Wonder of the World”!  We will walk down the narrow canyon to the breathtaking view of the Treasury, Petra’s most famous landmark. You will have time to visit this fascinating city carved from the cliffs of the canyon and experience some of the best ruins found anywhere in the world. We will then head back to Amman to overnight.



Day 10 Saturday, October 29, 2016 Ammon to JFK/USA –  Tour ends

This morning you will be transferred to the airport in Amman to catch our return flight to New York (JFK). The anticipated JFK Arrival time is 6:15pm into JFK.  We recommend staying in a hotel close to JFK and flying home the next day.

16 Oct Depart USA for Cairo


17 Oct Arrive Cairo - We arrive in the land of the Pharaohs, Jacob, Joseph and Israel during the famine! Upon arrival in Cairo we meet our guide and driver who will transport us to the hotel for dinner and rest for the remainder of the evening. We relax tonight as we prepare for the adventurous travel ahead.


18 Oct Today we travel back to ancient Egypt with a full day of touring to the wonders of the ancient world, some of which date back to 1000+ years prior to Abraham. We spend time at one of the seven wonders of the world- the pyramids. Cheops, with an original height of 496 feet, is the most colossal pyramid ever built. Today, we will also see the Sphinx and tour the Egyptian Museum, location of Tutankhamen's treasures and ancient remains. This evening we will fly to Aswan.


19 Oct Early This morning  we transfer to the airport for our flight to Abu Simbel, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "Nubian Monuments." Our Egyptologist guide discusses the relevance of this spectacular site from Egyptian history. We will also try to put in perspective the long history of Egypt. Here we visit the massive temple of Pharaoh Rameses II, perhaps the greatest builder of temples in ancient Egypt (13th Century BC) and a second one of Queen Nafertari, Rameses's most beloved wife. After visiting Abu Simbel we fly back to the modern city of Aswan. Upon arrival we take time to visit the High Dam, built from 1960 - 1971 and is a major factor in Egypt’s agricultural success. We then also spend time at Philae Temple on the Isi-Island. This complex was moved from up river due to the impending destruction upon the completion of the High Dam. This we will Evening transfer to Luxor


20 Oct  This morning we visit the Valley of the Kings (where many ancient pharaohs were buried) and the famous Temple of Hatshepsut, the princess who perhaps pulled baby Moses out of the Nile River. This temple may have been designed by Moses.  

We also plan to visit the Temple of Karnak (temple of the New Kingdom period) and the East Bank of the Nile. It was during this period that the bondage and Exodus occurred. Karnak second to Giza’s Pyramids, is one of Egypt’s most important Pharaonic sites. We visit the famous Temple of Luxor, which was founded in the reign of Amenhotep III, grandson of the pharaoh of the Exodus. Late this evening we will fly back to Cairo.


21 Oct After breakfast at the hotel we will go to the Cairo Airport for our flight homeward or on to Israel.
