Is this cruise only available to LDS members?

Everyone regardless of faith is invited. These tour packages include a visit to the Rome Italy Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Are the package prices based on double occupancy?

Yes. Prices are per person, based on double occupancy, meaning two people in a cabin. Prices for single occupancy cabins are higher. Please contact us for pricing and more information.

Will my passport be valid?

Make sure your passport will be valid during your trip and the following six months after your return date. Give yourself six weeks from the time you submit the paperwork. Otherwise you’ll need to expedite the process.

Can I make changes to my flight or can I stay longer than the tour package dates?

Yes. Please let us know at the time of your booking. We may be able to purchase your flights so you could arrive a few days before or stay after your original package dates. Prices may change as flight costs vary depending on schedules.

Once we receive your change request, we will email you a quote. There will be a change fee, plus any difference in price outside of your package. Please also let us know if you want quotes for any upgrades (premium economy, business class, first class, or a non-stop flight).

Can I add more passengers to my reservation if the cruise is sold out?

Unfortunately no. When the cruise is sold out the cruise cannot accept any more passengers.

Can I request to travel with others who have made reservations?

Yes. We will do our best to make these arrangements within the same tour package. We cannot guarantee this for all flights, due to availability. Please let us know your circumstances at the time of your booking.

Can I add travel insurance to my reservation?

Yes. Given you will be traveling internationally, we offer four different insurance options you can choose with AIG. This is helpful with lost luggage, trip delays or cancellations, medical issues or accidents. Let us know if you’d like to learn about coverage details or to sign up.

Can I use a different insurance company?

Yes. Please provide this information to us so we can include it in your travel information.

What is it like to cruise and tour in Europe?

Will my cell phone work?

Check with your cell provider beforehand about international options. Wi-Fi is available on the ship for a cost and at hotels. But even in the best of hotels it may not be reliable. We recommend getting an international data plan and using a texting service, like “WhatsApp” or "Facebook Messenger."

What is the weather like?

Visit to help in your planning. In the summer, we recommend that you bring 50+ sunscreen, wear light clothing, and have a cover for your head (hat or umbrella) and sunglasses.

Do I need to exchange money? When, how, and how much is recommended?

It is recommended to exchange money prior to your trip to get a better exchange rate. However, you can exchange money at locations during your trip. Some international vendors accept a credit card. Let your credit card company know you’ll be traveling and ask for a three-digit code that allows your card to work internationally.

Exchange rate: 1 € (Euro) equals about $1.12 (USD). Search online: Euro Exchange Rate for current rates.

Tipping? We recommend: 5 € (Euro) per day per person for each: the bus driver, the licensed guide, and the tour assistant. When you are on the ship, tips (about 10 € per person) will be automatically charged to your registered card.

How do I book excursions?

When you log into your account you can book your excursions and pay for them right there on the website. How? Once you are logged in if you scroll down you will see under the words “Our Extras for You”, CostaTours (Shore Excursions)”. Once you click on that you will be able to select the days and cities for excursion. If you want more information on a certain excursion, click on it and you will be able to see how long the excursion takes, the difficulty level, how long you would be walking, the price in Euros, what you will see, what you need to know before you book, and the type of excursion it is.

Is it safe to travel to Europe?

We are committed to the safety and comfort of our tour groups and stay informed of travel warnings and alerts. If there are any concerns at all, adjustment will be made.

Increased caution should be used while traveling to international destinations. The U.S. Department of State posts current safety conditions and information at

All travelers have the option to purchase travel insurance. We partner with AIG to provide multiple options to help travelers protect their investment in their trip. Insurance helps with lost luggage, trip delays or cancellations, medical issues or accidents. While travel insurance is not required, many recommend it when traveling internationally.

What happens when I arrive?

What happens when I first get to the airport?

Once you have arrived at the Rome FCO Airport you will be at Arrival Terminal T3. First, get your luggage. Next, go through customs, and then come out of the terminal and look for our tour leaders holding CruiseBuilder signs. (Before you travel, talk to your cell phone provider about getting an international plan.) We will email you a phone number that you should keep in case you need help.

Can you tell me about the tour leaders and guides?

Our tour leaders are experts in the cities we will visit. We also have tour assistants who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ who will join each group. They both will point you to interesting things to see and to the best stores to buy food and souvenirs.

What are the physical demands of the tour? How much walking will there be in Rome?

There will be some walking during several parts of the tour. The walking tours can vary in time walking from 1.5 hours to 4 hours. However, the Rome portion of the tour requires more walking--most of the 8-hour day. The tours are taken at a leisurely pace but require you to be on your feet and walking most of the time. It’s important that you are ready for this because the sites you visit do not allow vehicles within certain limits.

If you don’t feel like you can walk the distance or do a portion of the tour, you may not be able to participate in all the activities. But please let the tour leaders know. They will try to find a good place for you to wait for the tour or alternatives to meet the tour at the next stop.

If you have limitations walking, getting on and off the bus, or using stairs please let us know who will assist you. The tour leaders and assistants are not able to push wheelchairs while they are responsible for the entire group. They will do their best to help everyone have the best experience possible.

What will I be able to do at the Rome Temple?

There are ordinance times reserved for you at the temple. Due to the limited capacity of the endowment room and depending on the size of the tour group, not everyone will be able to join an endowment session. However, there are opportunities for sealings, initiatories, and baptisms for the dead. We are looking forward to our time together at the beautiful Rome Temple and Visitors Center complex.

What about temple clothing? Will the temple have clothing to use?

The Rome Temple presidency and the temple workers are excited for you to come. However, the temple cannot provide temple clothing for everyone. We suggest you bring your own white temple clothing. Please, consider this for what you desire to do at the temple.
